Figbo Paired Families With Farm Fresh Food And Fun!

Harvest season is just about here and it a time to celebrate life. On August 6, Figbo sponsored the Seattle Harvest Fair in Meridian Park. It was a busy and fun day for us and all the family and friends that came out to participate. This hands-on community festival had cooking demonstrations and workshops that showed you how to cook the fresh foods available from local farms. And there were fun urban farm activities, something for all ages.

With farm fresh foods that are as tasty as anything you will find was all over the fair. With live music to enjoy while people ate and walked the many booths, this was day that won’t soon be forgotten. With an organic farmers market set up, everyone had the opportunity to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. There was also a Central Co-op Cider Press where everyone could try their hand at making cider!

With a booth set up that let visitors make herb crowns and plenty of urban farm animals for the kids to pet. There were craft booths, a fig tattoo booth, and bubbles. And what would a fair be if there was no parade! At high noon, the Seattle Harvest Fair parade, filled with participants, made its way through the park as visitors watched.

The highlight for us here at Figbo was the opportunity to talk to more people about buying farm fresh foods for their family. We found many people that were interested in how our from-the-farm-to- the-door system works and felt the curiosity and excitement. We take great pride in the contacts we have made with local farmers to provide the residents of Washington the ability to have that farm fresh goodness.

Pregnancy spurs Sammamish couple to found new organic food delivery service

Ten-month-old Lipi Komanapalli was all smiles as she stood on her own, big-eyed and pretty in pink, at the coffee table.

She knows she’s the center of attention here.

And, like most babies, anything she can get her hands on goes in her mouth.

That’s where her parents come in: Sammamish residents Vamsi Komanapalli and Swapna Savvana take extra care when it comes to Lipi’s tummy.
